The Apollo` s Memorial For Michael Jackson.

I live in the suburbs of NYC and if you want certain things, you have to drive to the city to get it! I had a quarter size of my shea butter mixture left. I have not used commercial lotion on my skin since I made a decision to lock my hair. After discovering the ingredients used to make hair and skin products, I decided to make my own body butters and purchase my shampoos and conditioners from the health food store or from my fellow locked sistahs that make natural hair products.

It was my turn to chaperoned my son and his girl friend. I needed raw African Shea butter to make my body butter. The best place to get it is in Harlem, at 125th st! My friend and I decided to kill two birds with one stone and visit Michael Jackson`s Memorial in front of the famous Apollo theater!

There were vendors selling Michael Jackson t-shirts, CD`s, buttons, and pictures. There was a makeshift memorial, as well as a signatures filled fence with pens available so you can write a thought.

What attracted me to this wall was this image that a fan had added to this wall. This was from the smooth criminal video. One of my favorite videos!

This image appears large, but as you can see from the photo below, it was quite small!

My youngest son

My son and his girl friend

We all had a great time! We bought a few t-shirts and buttons. I saw some friends and ex- co workers. ( I worked in The Harlem community for 13 years! ) I bought a large tub of raw African Shea butter and Nubian Heritage mango butter soap with Shea and cocoa butters. These soaps are great! I purchased this for $3. If you purchase two, it`s $5. The Nubian Heritage products are all natural.

MJ, you will be missed!

Thanks for sharing the pictures, they didn't have anything here but they showed the memorial at the imax but not even 30 people showed up. I watched at home. The writing on the wall, the shadow picture (really excellent) it's so much better to see it on your blog instead of on tv. The asian hair supply store can't keep the MJ t-shirts in stock. I'm going to get one for me and my daughter. Smooth Criminal is one of my favorite videos also. I like Jam with Michael Jordan because it looks like MJ really enjoyed himself, I've never seen him smile so much on a video.
Your son and his girlfriend make a very cute couple.

Right this minute am listening to MJ's 25th aniversary Thriller CD album. Has some added bonuses on it too. Still hard to believe he's gone when I can still hear his voice.

MJJ YOU'VE LEFT A MASSIVE VOID BEHIND!!!

I went through your entire blog...your hair is beautiful! Your family is beautiful and I love how you praise the Lord for everything!
I've been locked for 16 months and I love my locks. They aren't sisterlocks because they didn't begin as sisterlocks but still in all, I love them. I retighten my own locks with a latch hook. I had to learn becasue it got to be too much to spend all of the time, my locks are very small and my original loctician was alittle too moody and sometimes rude so I stopped going. I spent too much time in her chair to deal with unprofessionalism. I have to be professional on my job, I felt she should be too with all the money I paid her.

Anyway...back to the positive...I love your hair...I'm on Facebook,

Hi Mikki!

Thanks for stopping by! I `am happy that you enjoyed my blog. I just want to share my experiences!

Don`t worry if you do not have SLs. Technically, since I do not use the SL tool and have not taken the SL class, I don`t have them too!
Who cares! I have small locs and that's what I wanted!
The important point is that they are the size that you want them! The method that you use makes no difference. The end results are locs, dreadlocs or matted hair!

One of the main reasons I locked was the hair drama! When I got hair drama early in my loc journey, I became a DYIer! I love my locs and will have them until God decides otherwise! Who I give my time and my money to is PRICELESS!
